Lothian True Blues
Away ticket distribution (terms & conditions)

To ensure a fairer and more consistent allocation of away tickets received by the club (excluding CIS and Scottish Cup semi finals and finals) the committee has introduced a ‘points’ system which is successfully used by numerous supporters clubs.

A list of members wishing to attend an away match will be taken on the bus at the preceding home game. Members can also contact the current away bus convenor Jim Bowman on 07974 820 265 prior to that home game if unable to attend and are seeking to attend the next away match.

One point will be awarded for:

  • Any member requesting an away ticket from the club (whilst successful or not if a ballot is required). If successful the member must travel on the club bus to that match unless numbers dictate that the club cannot run its own bus. Tickets are not transferable between members and will be allocated to the successful individual on the bus travelling to the match unless the club cannot run its own bus. On these occasions alternative arrangements will be made for the supply / collection of the tickets.
  • Any member travelling on the club bus to an away match who has obtained their own ticket. To enable the club to arrange transport in the most cost effective manner any member wishing to travel to an away match with their own ticket must advise the current away bus convenor Jim Bowman no later than 9pm, 7 days prior to the relevant match. Should they fail to do so there is no guarantee that seats will be available nor a place on the bus.
  • Any member who supplies the club with ticket(s) for an away match where the club has insufficient tickets to satisfy demand. These must be provided to the current away bus convenor Jim Bowman to enable distribution fairly within the system.

Allocation of tickets:

  • Tickets will be only be provided to bus member(s) who have accumulated the most points and will be allocated on a reducing points basis thereafter.
  • A ballot will be conducted in the event of insufficient tickets being available when two or more members have accumulated the same points total.
  • At the conclusion of the allocation process successful members will be notified (normally by text message).
  • If a member is unsuccessful in the ballot the club will endeavour to obtain additional tickets for the match in question. If offered no later than 9pm three days prior to the match and not taken up the point awarded for the initial request will be deducted. In the event of an offer after that time not being taken up the point awarded will not be deducted.
  • If a member has agreed to take a ticket and / or travel on the club bus they must contact the current away bus convenor Jim Bowman on 07974 820 265 no later than 9pm three days prior to the match if they are unable to attend. In these circumstances the point awarded for the initial request will be deducted.
  • If a member has agreed to take a ticket and / or travel on the club bus and fails to appear (without notification) the point awarded for the initial request will be deducted. In addition a further point will be deducted for the ‘no show’. In the event of the club losing money (inability to sell the members allocated ticket or making a loss on bus costs) due to this non attendance the committee reserve the right to request payment from the member for the ticket and / or bus fare. In that situation should the member fail to comply they will be excluded from receiving any away tickets or travelling on away buses until the matter is resolved.

Other matters:

  • For matches where the club has sufficient tickets to meet demand the club will endeavour to sell tickets for members who cannot attend. No point will be awarded to that member and there is no guarantee that the ticket (s) will be sold / may have to be sold at less than face value.
  • At the start of each season where a member has applied for and received an away ticket allocation direct from Rangers Football Club and intends to travel on the club bus to the matches, the confirmation of this must be provided to the away bus convenor to enable the club to plan and organise future away buses.
  • Members ‘away’ point totals will start afresh at the start of each season. However in the event of demand exceeding supply for the first three matches of the new season, member records from the previous season will be used to determine allocation.
  • In the event of an away match postponement the ticket allocation and points awarded will carry forward to the re arranged fixture. No points will be deducted from any member unable to attend the re arranged match.
  • The committee reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time by supplying the members with written confirmation of any changes.
  • In the event of any dispute the committee decision will be considered final.
